Olivier Giroud will sign for Milan in the next few hours and before doing so he wanted to say goodbye to Chelsea. He also wanted to say thanks for all the success achieved over the last three-and-a-half years.
Giroud is finalising the details before becoming a Milan player, where he will share a changing room and attack with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Before going any further, the Frenchman said goodbye to Chelsea.
He did so via his social media, thanking the club for their treatment and also the successes they achieved together over the three-and-a-half year spell.
“To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments. I’m starting a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in Fa Cup, Europa League and Champions league have been magnificent. Love Oli G”, he wrote on his Twitter account.
The Frenchman leaves Stamford Bridge with 119 matches to his name, 60 of which came as a starter. In that time he scored 39 goals and provided 13 assists.
