Government Prohibits Competitions Before 31st July In Belgium And League To Be Cancelled

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, the Belgian league will be cancelled amidst the latest measures taken by the government.

The Belgian league, the first to announce that the league was cancelled, although they then reversed it, seems like it will not be able to get underway again.

According to ‘Sporza’, the government announced that there will be no sports competitions in the country until at least 31st July.

This decision makes it impossible for the Belgian league to resume, as there will be no time left to finish it.

Therefore, as has already happened in France and the Netherlands, Belgium will call football to a halt until next season.
