Man City Were Able To Come Away With A Huge 1-0 Win At Stamford Bridge

The first 45 at Stamford Bridge was fairly uneventful. Man City dominated but were unable to register a single effort on target.

For the first time under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have failed to have a shot on target in the first half of a Premier League game at Stamford Bridge.

However, it took less than 10 minutes for the Sky Blues to do so in the second 45.

Gabriel Jesus directed a shot through a crowded penalty area, which Edouard Mendy did not see until late, and would leave the African unable to do anything but watch the effort glide into the back of his net:

Chelsea started the game very defensively with three central midfielders and only two forwards in Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku.

But following the goal, Tuchel finally opted to bring on Kai Havertz in an attempt to add some much-needed creativity.

Said change did open up the game a fair bit, with both sides having several good chances and Chelsea also having a goal, rightly, ruled out for offside.

In the end, though, Man City were able to come away with a huge 1-0 win, drawing them level on points at the top of the PL with Chelsea and Liverpool.

Following the tie, it was revealed that, for the first time in the Premier League era, Manchester City have won back-to-back games at Stamford Bridge.
