Spanish FA Give Barca Green Light To Sign A Player

‘Radio Marca’ says that Barcelona have been given the green light by the Spanish FA to sign a player because of Ousmane Dembele’s long term injury. Therefore, Bartomeu and the Barca board will be able to get another striker.

Since Dembele’s injury, it became clear that Barcelona were short of strikers. The key thing is that Barcelona can only bring in an emergency replacement if his injury means he will be out for at least five months

According to ‘Radio Marca’, the Spanish FA (RFEF) have got in contact with the club to tell them that they have their approval to sign a footballer because of Dembele’s long term injury. This confirms that the board led by Bartomeu will have to look for another ‘9’.

The replacement will have to be playing in La Liga. The main candidates are Angel (Getafe), Budimir (Mallorca) and Loren (Betis). However, Rubi, the Betis coach, said he probably will not join the Catalans.

Willian Jose (Real Sociedad) was ruled out. Barca did not agree to put the amount of money the Basques wanted for him so they will have to go elsewhere. The negotiations seem difficult because the majority do not need to sell so they will ask for a lot of money.
