Iconic British journalist, Piers Morgan has named his top 10 sporting greatest of all times, GOATs.
He snubbed Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain and named Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo as number five.
Messi’s legendary exploits in the round-leather game put the 34-year-old as one of the best footballers ever seen.
Messi has won seven Ballon d’Or awards, two ahead of on-pitch rival Ronaldo.
Morgan, however, revealed in his column for The Daily Mail the 10 legendary athletes on his list of ‘sporting GOATs.’
According to the former Good Morning Britain co-host, there are “many candidates” for football’s GOAT with the likes of Messi, Pele and Diego Maradona being mentioned.
But the veteran journalist said Ronaldo is “above them all” and is the “best real footballer to ever lace his boots.”
The 56-year-old outspoken TV broadcaster also snubbed Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar Tom Brady from his rankings.
