Top Premier League manager laments after he’s asked to get out of club

One of the most experienced managers in the English Premier League, Rafael Benitez has lamented the manner he is being treated by fans of the club.

A banner was raised by the away fans during Everton’s FA Cup third round against Hull City on Saturday, telling the Spaniard to get out of the club.

Benitez also received ‘sacked in the morning’ chants from Hull supporters, and Everton fans applauded in agreement as their side needed extra-time to narrowly beat the Championship strugglers 3-2.

Despite this, the former Liverpool boss insisted he is not worried for his future at Goodison Park.

Benitez told ITV, “No. What I said before – the problems that you try to fix are coming from a time ago.

“I have experience to do it. I will try to do my best. If some fans understand that, they will support the team. That is the main thing, to stay behind the team.

“If they don’t understand that, some of them, it’s fine, it’s up to them…”

Everton will play another Premier League side, Brentford in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
