Rakitic’s days at Camp Nou are numbered. The Croatian has plenty of suitors, with Mourinho’s Tottenham added to the list in the past few hours.
At the beginning of April, the newspaper ‘Sport’ indicated that Barcelona has already informed Rakitic that the club intends to transfer him in the next transfer market.
Rakitic has a long list of suitors around Europe, and has even stated he would be happy to return to his former club Sevilla FC.
But in the meantime, the journalist Abdellah Boulma has reported Mourinho’s Tottenham has put itself in line to fight for the Croatian player, because they see a footballer with an enormous capacity to command the midfield.
The Portuguese coach would like Rakitic to reorganize his midfield after Eriksen’s departure and with Lo Celso struggling to command despite good performances.
Barcelona are looking to sell him, as Rakitic could end up leaving for free if he does not leave this summer. For the moment, Rakitic is training at home and waiting to see what happens with the season and its future, which will be resolved, almost certainly, as soon as the course ends.
Rakitic, on the other hand, already made an analysis of his situation some days ago in ‘Mundo Deportivo’: “With the people I have spoken to, they haven’t been able to give me an explanation or anything concrete.
Everybody tells me that in football things happen that you don’t understand, that you have to go forward. What hurt me the most wasn’t playing or not playing, but the way. You can’t be in one place even if you want to if they want another player.
