Manchester United have now started negotiations to convince Shanghai Shenhua to allow them to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan at least for a few more months.
Manchester United aim to keep Odion Igahlo longer than what was stipulated in his loan. That’s why, after months of making clear that they would go for him, sources in Manchester are saying that United have now started negotiations with Shanghai Shenhua to formally extend his loan.
In principle, the idea is to reach an agreement for the Nigerian forward until at least the end of the season when football resumes in England, so his loan could be extended until the end of August.
However, Igahlo’s performance has been quite convincing, so it is not ruled out that the club do their best to keep him for another season.
However, the forward would have to sacrifice a lot of money for it. Not just his salary, but also because the Chinese side are willing to consider a new deal with even better conditions for him.
