Xavi Hernandez has reacted to his appointment as Barcelona’s new manager.

Barcelona confirmed Xavi, a club legend, as their new manager on Friday.

Xavi, signed a two-and-half-year deal, with Barcelona after saying his goodbyes to the Qatari side, Al-Sadd ahead of his return to the Blaugrana.

Barcelona expects Xavi, who replaces Ronald Koeman, to arrive at the club this weekend ahead of his official presentation and first press conference at the Nou Camp on Monday.

Speaking after Barcelona confirmed his return to the club, Xavi said in an emotional video: “It wasn’t goodbye. It was seeing you soon.

“The Camp Nou has always been my home. You are my fans, my people, the club that I love the most. And now, I’m coming home. See you soon, Culers. Forca Barca!”
